Why is the better question. Once one can determine the value of what a man might receive (good and bad), then one might determine the appropriate budget (not just financial. time as well) and work out which women are attractive enough to bother chasing.
MGTOWs are guys concluding that the chase is a bad investment.
PUAs limit the expenditure on any individual woman while investing heavily in chasing women as a herd.

As with some of the others, I’m still waiting to hear what high-value means in 38 year old women. I fear that there’s a chasm of difference between what such women and men in general would define as high-value.
