Even my girlfriends, who I know respect and care for me, cannot say anything except “NAWALT” or “parental alienation is not a serious problem” or “in the end, the court system is fair” or “that’s just a lurid anecdote, none of my friends are like that” or “hypergamy is just baffling sexist nonsense”. (I received the latter two disavowals last night.) The cognitive dissonance is off the charts.
